thus可以用作副词
thus的基本意思是“如此,这样,以此方式” 。
thus也可作“其结果是,因此,于是”解 。

1：They had not eaten all day, so they were very hungry.
2：They had not eaten all day, thus they were very hungry.
上面2个句子里，so的句1是正确的 ， thus的句2是错误的 。
接下来，我们和大家分析一下，都是“所以”，so和thus之间有什么区别 。
词性不同
so表示“所以”是连词(conj.)，前后都是完整的主谓宾 。
这也解释了为什么because和so不能连用，因为它俩的功能完全一致 。
所以上面so的句子，语法上是正确的 。
thus是副词(adv.)，在句子里不能连接2套主谓宾 。
一般而言 ， thus有3种用法
SVO. Thus, SVO.(Thus句首大写)
SVO; thus SVO.(分号+thus)
